A special ring holder

Wedding season is nearly here and you haven’t thought of a ring holder? Or would you like an original idea to hold an engagement ring? You can do all this with a walnut!

You will only need four things:

  • a walnut
  • satin
  • hot glue
  • a small piece of leather

It is a piece of cake to make: open the walnut in half, empty it out and smooth it well around the edges and inside using a file or sandpaper.

Attach the piece of leather inside the shells, so it acts as a joint for the two halves of the walnut.

Make accordion pleats with the satin, so you create slots for the rings (or ring) and glue the fabric inside one of the shells. Fill the other half of the shell with satin to make a sort of cushion, so the rings do not move about when the walnut is closed.

You can close the walnut with a ribbon or a thin string of material that will not slide about on the shell.

This option is perfect for nature lovers who like simple, romantic things for a wedding nestled in lush greenery or by the seashore…and it embodies all your love enclosed in a shell!
