Are you looking for an easy starter? Do you want an idea for a quick appetizer? This oven-baked brie and walnut canape with dried figs, cranberries and honey is just the recipe you’re looking for!

Honey and brie is a truly winning combination, with a delicate and slightly sweet flavour, a must try together with dried fruit, for an original and simple to make starter.

INGREDIENTS

• 4 brie rounds, 110 g each • 8 dried figs • 40 g walnuts • 40 g cranberries • honey • fresh thyme as desired • 4 knobs of butter

PREPARATION

To make this recipe there are very few steps.

Cut the upper part of the cheese with a sharp knife, removing only the top skin and leaving the edges intact.  Place the cheese rounds on a baking tray lined with baking paper and scatter with the figs cut into fours, the walnuts roughly chopped and the cranberries left whole. Drizzle with as much honey as desired and add a knob of butter.

COOKING

Cook all together in a pre-heated oven at 180° for about 10 minutes, or until you notice that the cheese inside starts to look as though it’s just melted. Take the brie out of the oven and serve immediately with breadsticks or slices of toasted bread.
